Declaration of fundamental rights
In January and March 1795, during the Batavian Revolution, the States of several provinces and the States General proclaimed a declaration of the rights of man and the citizen, after the French model. The list of ba sic rights was added as a preamble to the constitution of 1798. After the Restoration of 1813, no such declaration was incorporated in the constitution again until 1983.
